Hospital TV at 2:00 am

Once I was "in hospital" as we say Norway, for the string in my leg. Earlier they had performed an operation by going in through my neck. I groggy from all the medication and fell asleep. I dreamt it was done by a Russian bullfighter. A 2:00 am I awoke to this. It changed my life. I had a whole new will to live! live! live!

Perdido

This is "Perdido" which the band uses as the opening of my Las Vegas nightclub act. In fact, it's my theme song. Stick it out to the end so you can see the action on the horn mutes. Did you know the derby hats were the original horn mutes? Ha-cha-cha-chaaaaaaa!

Phillip T. Nails

For Phillip T. Nails host of Red Light Open Mic at Amnesia

Dapper, you never have sand in your shoes,
except at Burning Man.
A rapper -
the baddest beatnik on the beach.
Plus, I like the way you introduce performers named William.
WIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLIYUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM!

(Election night Phillip performed the Doors "Back Door Man" at Amnesia karaoke.)

J'étais fil par les loups furieux.

I still wanted a croissant. Since I lost my wallet I was forced to go in disguise (left) to the beloved French bakery Tartine and use my best Thespian skills.

"Oh no! I lost...I mean...er...forgot my wallet. Can I owe you?"

Since I practically keep the place in business they didn't have much choice. Je te payerai avec bonté mardi un hamburger aujourd'hui. Future tense! It brings back memories.

Can-Can

Is there anything better than a cold can of Coke? Some people prefer glass bottles. I doubt if anyone likes plastic. By the way in Cole Porter's Can-Can is that Shirley McLaine, Shelley Winters or Peggy Cass performing the Village People's "YMCA"?

And you thought Dora Hall was bad

In Junk Thief 's recent blog we discover that Telly Savalas sings so poorly that he makes Dora Hall sound like Connie Francis. That doesn't prevent a furniture restoration business from bragging about bringing back to life the puffy chair Telly sat on in his Swiss mountaintop headquarters in Her Majesty's Secret Service. After Patrick Stewart, George Lazenby is my favorite James Bond and he went on to make several Emmanuelles.

Yo, Kowalski

The rock group Primal Scream did a whole album as an alternative sound track to Vanishing Point. The scene depicted here of people playing dominos reminds of Liz and Dick playing dominos on their yacht during the filming of Boom! that fabulous Noel Coward vehicle.
